Trauma and Traumatic Events

Trauma is the term used to refer to events that have a profound impact on someones life, examples include natural disasters, assaults, acts of violence, and difficult childhood events. What may be traumatic for one person is not traumatic for someone else. These events can have lifelong effects on an individual, sometimes called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
